Valorization of Cyprinus Carpio Skin for Biocompatible Collagen Hydrolysates with Potential Application in Foods, Cosmetics and Pharmaceuticals

نویسندگان

چکیده

Fish collagen is reported with an increased bioavailability as compared to other sources, the extraction being performed on secondary sources skin, bones, scales, or fins resulted after fish processing. The aim of present study was obtain biocompatible hydrolysates from waste Cyprinus carpio main aquaculture species in Romania using inexpensive and “green” neutral hydrolysis process. Neutral pretreated skins for 6 h at a temperature 135 °C pressure 315 kPa produced 24.6–35.5% yields depending adopted pretreatment procedure. extensive characterization hydrolysate samples revealed high purity degree (98% protein content, undetected ash pH value range 6–7), also confirmed by absence undesired aggregates characteristic fibril structure determined electronic microscopy. A specific random coil triple helix FTIR analysis sustained CD spectroscopy X-Ray diffraction. biocompatibility assessment obtained no cytotoxic effect Human keratinocytes, 80% cell viability, superior conventional bovine hydrolysate. skin yielded characteristics collagen, suitable application foods, cosmetics pharmaceutical industry.

Common Carp, Cyprinus carpio

The common carp (Cyprinus carpio) belongs to the family Cyprinidae. In nature, carp live in the middle or lower reaches of a river with slow currents, or in marshes. Antibacterial activities of bacteriocins: application in foods and pharmaceuticals

Bacteriocins are a kind of ribosomal synthesized antimicrobial peptides produced by bacteria, which can kill or inhibit bacterial strains closely-related or non-related to produced bacteria, but will not harm the bacteria themselves by specific immunity proteins. Bacteriocins become one of the weapons against microorganisms due to the specific characteristics of large diversity of structure and...
